Getting here
One of the many benefits of Southampton is that it is very convenient to travel here with so many different modes of transport available.
By Road
From the North, London and the Home Counties, the M3, M27 and A34 provide fast, direct road links into the city centre. The A36 is the major route from the West Country, Bristol and Wales. From the East, follow the A27/M27 and depart at Junction 8.
Parking
Southampton has 42 car parks, including surface car parks around the city centre and covered car parks within the city's main shopping area such as WestQuay shopping centre’s facility of 4,000 parking spaces, Western Esplanade's two car park areas and The Marlands shopping centre.
There may be height, weight or length of stay restrictions and differing parking charges.
All City Council car parks are open 24 hours a day and charges apply seven days a week
By Air
The airport is located on the outskirts of the city and within easy access from the M27 and M3. It is also served by Southampton Airport Parkway railway station, and the local Uni-Link bus service. Southampton Central Station is just a 7 minute journey from Southampton Airport Parkway, or you can get the U1C bus service down to the City Centre (£2 single, £3.50 return)
By Sea
There are two Red Funnel ferry services to and from the Isle of Wight departing from Town Quay; a high speed service for foot passengers and a ferry for vehicles, cyclists and foot passengers.
A half hourly foot passengers and cyclists service to Hythe also leaves from Town Quay.
It is a short 5/10 minute walk from the port to the dance spots in the city centre.
By Rail and Coach
Southampton Central rail station is served by direct trains from and to many cities across the country, including London, Birmingham, Oxford, Bristol, Leeds, Brighton and Manchester.
National Express coaches pick up at Southampton Cruise Terminal, the University of Southampton and the main coach station at Western Esplanade. Coaches travel to and from various destinations all over the country.
Again it is a short 5/10 minute walk to the dance spots in you arrive by rail or coach.

Food outlets are roughly split into three areas in the city centre with restaurants and bars at West Quay Watermark & the Guildhall Square, and fast food inside West Quay shopping centre and along Above Bar Street.
